Painting hair in Photoshop. (But I call her Sinnead)

I painted a tutorial for the nordic design/creative magazine "Cap & Design". The tutorial was on how to paint hair in photoshop and it will be published in the next issue (number 3/2008).
This is the result of painting according according to that tutorial, It's painted in photoshop CS3 using the brush, dodge and burn and blur. The timelapse have an unexplained jump to color on the actual skin and head of the girl but that's cause the skincolor wasn't a part of the tutorial.

The Timelapse is on youtube:

Heybaberiba Styleguide

I realized that illustrating for agencies has its downsides. One of them is that if your an all round illustrator, who can make many different styles, it will almost scare off some clients.
So, I started making a styleguide.
'The styleguide is the same motive, Swedish actress Elise Hwasser (1831-1894), painted in many different techniques and styles. (I don't have any digital pictures of her but there's some if you google her) When a client is in doubt, I can whip out the styleguide, talk about what techniques I could use to achieve the right message.
Its absolutely wonderful to work with, I kinda regret not making a styleguide earlier.
This is just 4 versions, but its the sample versions I keep on my webpage.
Cheers!

Adventures In Snudarskogurinn

Snudarskogurinn is some dark and misty woods near the entrence to the center of the earth. There livs Evin, who one day discovers that she has lost her daydreams. Together with some creatures she meets on the way, she sets of to find Njorun, the dreamgodess, to find out where her dreams has gone.
I havnt written the whole story yet, Im still doing the funniest parts, making up concepts, characters and little background stories.
Heres some misc animals from Snudarskogurinn:

And Evin meets Mervin the flyfish:
Evin sat thoughless in her thinking tree. That's weird she thought, I can think, yet I can't think up one single daydream. Maybe I have run out of imagination?
She was so busy thinking about nothing that she didn't see the bird that had landed on a branch close to her.
-Hrmm... Excause me miss?
Evin looked up and drew a quick breath. The bird in front of her was nothing like any bird she had ever seen. It was scaly like a snake and a bit slimy and green. And completely without any feathers.
She decided to do the only safe thing one could do when faced with something new, scary and potencially dangerous. She took a stick and poked it.

Im awful sorry if my english is a bit weird, I promise that I wont send anything off without having it corrected by an englishman

As a part of a campaign for our class, we created a fortune teller site where people within advertisement and marketing could get predictions on who to employ to win the pitches.
The site is in swedish, its called "Skåda Framtiden" and its avaliable at www.skadaframtiden.se
I painted all the tarot cards for this site, 30 of them all in all.

Its inspired by the classic tarotcards from AE waite, all student got to pick their favourite and then I painted a version of that card, fitting it with the text they had on the back.

This card is Anna, though not from a tarotcard, as "The daring nun"

According to swedish law, and copyright issues, I'm not allowed to post photos of the people on the net without their written permission. I hope that the pictures can communicate something without showing how the people really looks
This is a portrait of Charlie, a friend living in the same town as me here in Sweden.
We headed over to her to drink some coffie and had the camera with us so I took a photo of her and based a portrait of her on it.
I just loved the illumination from the cup
Anyways, she's been forgotten and hidden on my d: drive until the other day when I looked at it and knew just exactly what had to be changed for me to be happy with it.
So here she is, the new and reworked Charlie.
